About Me

I'm based in Moffat in the Scottish Borders. After many years drawing and painting I took a formal course in creative media at the Dumfries School of Art and spent a further year studying at Sam Mullen's studio. Since then I have been painting and exhibiting in the region.

I work mostly in acrylic and watercolour. Many people start with watercolour although it is just about the most difficult medium to master - about a lifetime is enough to become expert in handling watercolours! I find acrylics are great to use undiluted as a quick drying, water based alternative to oil paint. No need for white spirit and turps.

If you want to share ideas, or just want some information about the paintings then leave a comment  at the end of the blog and I'll get back to you.

Happy painting!
